Microsoft has released the second public beta of its Internet Explorer web browser. They say its more stable than first public beta. Information Week has an in depth review of Microsoft’s web browser.
The rise in the use of the Firefox browser has forced Microsoft to make changes to its Internet Explorer browser in order to offer comparable features that people find useful. The basic interface and features of Internet Explorer have been retooled. To me I like some of the features such as thumbnails for tabs. Other feature changes don?t really appeal to me such as having a button for refresh.
The final release of Internet Explorer 7 should happen sometime later this year, but the beta allows users to have a taste of what?s coming out next. For me its nice because I get a preview of a browser that I can test my development projects on and insure that it will be compatible with Internet Explorer 7. I do take into consideration that it is a beta and things could change. For the most part I can adapt my work to allow for these changes.
For a more in depth review of the browser check out Information Week’s article or give Internet Explorer Beta 2 a try for yourself. In any case, Firefox is still my browser of choice.
