MySpace for the Office

MySpace and Facebook have grown in popularity over the past couple of years. The target audience is primarily teens and young adults. The venture giant Kleiner Perkins is backing Visible Path in order to push this popularity into the corporate world reported by Business Week.

Visible Path is looking to target companies in its social networking approach to business. They want to offer subscriptions to businesses. The style of the site is not member profiles like MySpace but it does keep track of transactions between users.

I think social networking is a tough market within business. It?s hard to convince businesses that blogging is a good means of communication to its audience. Companies tend to hide their faces behind their brand, but as blogging becomes more popular it puts a face behind what the company has to say.
