More and more people are turning toward web applications and what this means naturally is more people vulnerable to cyber criminals. Large applications with many users have to be particularly careful with security in the web applications. I’m not saying every web application shouldn?t take careful consideration to security but those dealing with a lot of personal information have to be particularly careful. Yahoo News had an article on this particular subject.
Many of the cyber criminals use programming scripts in order to trick users into submitting information. This allows them to gain control of accounts, user information, and sometimes computers. Many are very good at hiding malicious activity and very advertise as convincing to many consumers.
Since more and more people are using AJAX in their web applications there tends to be some faulty scripts out there that are vulnerable to attack. Many of which write information to databases based on certain interaction or hacks.
As always if you are unsure of what you are installing on your machine or unsure of what service is being provided, you need to be careful on what you are doing.
