Write Firefox Extensions Using BugMeNot

June 8th, 2006

I haven’t really attempted to create my own Firefox extensions. I think it would be pretty cool to create some tools people could use, but I can’t seem to find the time to do projects like these. In fact, I sometimes find it hard to write entries in my blogs. For those interested in writing their own extensions, there is a pretty good tutorial on roachfiend.com.

The tutorial pulls the BugMeNot extension apart and and shows how it is created so other developers can use it as a model to create other extensions. From the look of things it doesn’t seem to be too difficult. It looks like its build up from XML and JavaScript. I’m sure there are other tutorials out there but this should be enough to get you started.
