Apple Releases MacBook

Apple has released the MacBook, a replacement to its aging iBook line. For the most part I have been waiting for this upgrade for quite some time now. I am looking to replace a Powerbook G4 and this might fit in to what I need. The Apple MacBooks features include a 13.3-inch widescreen display, Intel Core Duo processors clocked at 1.83Ghz or 2.0 GHz, iSight Camera, Front Row and Apple Remote, and MagSafe Power Adapter.

Apple Releases 17-inch MacBook Pro

Apple updated its website today to include its new 17-inch MacBook Pro. It has very similar specs as the 15-inch Mac Book Pro, but adds the top end 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo Processor as a standard option as well as Firewire 800 and an 8x Superdrive. Other features include 1GB of RAM expandable to 2GB, built-in iSight Camera, MagSafe Power Adapter, 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon X1600, Firewire 400, Bluetooth, and Airport Extreme all for the starting price of $2799.

Firefox 1.5.0.2

The new Firefox 1.5.0.2 release provides native Intel support for Macintosh computers with the Intel Core processors as well as stability and security updates for all users. I had already been using Firefox 1.5.0.1 on both my Powerbook G4 as well as my Mac Mini Intel Core Solo so it shouldn’t be too much of a difference for me.
