Well after a few hiccups, the revision to this site is up and running. It has been completely revamped front end to back end with some additions and subtractions throughout. This is the first code run for the new look and feel which is now running on Wordpress. I’m hoping I’ll have some time in the near future to do some code cleanup and fine tune some of the plug-ins I’m using. Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone has their usual website that they visit on a regular basis. For me I’m really interested in technology so I like to visit sites related to that topic such as Engadget and Gizmodo. I recently started reading Uncrate as well. The three sites really have some interesting blog posts and it’s a good way to kill time. I mean I even have my own gadget blog called lightenment. Today I came across the site CrunchGear. It is similar to the other sites but since I also visit TechCrunch on a pretty regular basis I figure I would give it a shot. Read the rest of this entry »

The Sidejob has a redesign concept of the Myspace.com home page. In my opinion, the concept of Myspace is great. The actual coding of the site and reliability could be worked on. Of course I’ve never had to deal with a site as large as this, but I can still ask questions and maybe give some suggestions. Read the rest of this entry »

Demo.com has a pretty cool video demonstrating the next revision to Yahoo! Photos. There aren’t too many products out there that impress me right off the bat, but I have to say from watching this video, I’m very impressed with the improvements made in the new Beta. By utilizing the Web 2.0 concept in the latest version, Yahoo is able to utilize AJAX and create their online photo album program seem like a desktop application. Read the rest of this entry »

Yahoo has released their updated home page. I had seen screenshots of this before, but I think this is the first time it is available to the public. Overall I think it looks a lot better than the previous page. The look and feel is a lot lighter and that’s easier on the eyes, which is important for a page with that much content. I felt that the old page overburdened the reader with too much distraction. This new page appears to be a step in the right direction. Read the rest of this entry »

Dynamic Drive has launched a section of their website dedicated to practical CSS codes and examples. The examples shown are similar to the CSS Navigation examples that I had blogged about a couple of weeks ago. It looks like they have a few tutorials but have a long way to go to call it a library, but since the site just launched it is a good starting point for people looking for some CSS tricks. Yahoo! has unveiled a new tech site called Yahoo! Tech. It’s pretty clean and innovative. It uses popular tagging in the top section to help find products you are looking for by category. The main section with the top features is a little annoying to me because it has a huge advertisement before it shows the content. At first glance I thought that it was just a big ad on the front of the page and I didn’t even notice the main content. Read the rest of this entry »

Cybernet Technology News has some screenshots of a new search layout that Google is testing out. The new layout is very similar to the old layout except that it has an expandable arrow to show more information about the site such as a thumbnail and more content. Also available is the ability to search within that site. Read the rest of this entry »

Today I launched the preview of my new site. I was looking to brighten up the layout a little and make it easier to navigate. I have incorportated AJAX throughout the site and I think I have used it in appropriate places. Let me know if you have any feedback. I would appreciate it. Read the rest of this entry »
