I’m back in Nor Cal from my short vacation in So Cal. I got to go to San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, LA, and San Diego. It was a good trip and I got the chance to drive through different parts of California and visit friends throughout the journey which was nice.
In San Luis Obispo, I pretty much just worked from a coffee shop down there. I know I’m on vacation, but I still managed to work some. It was pretty uneventful there. I guess I’m pretty boring.
In Santa Barbara, I got to hang out with my old roommate Kenn and his girlfriend Kate. It’s always nice to see them.
Within the same day, I crashed in Culver City, where my other roommates from college live. I had spent a full day driving and working and I was exhausted when I got there. I got up in the morning and continued my journey to San Diego.
I arrived in Tower 23 in Pacific Beach. It was nice and I would probably stay there again. I went to my friend Katie’s graduation and I think if I never have to go to another graduation again, I would be okay with that. Congratulations Katie. The rest of the time I just relaxed down there in San Diego. I probably partied too hard, but I’m on vacation so I figure I can enjoy the little time I do take for a vacation. There were quite a few funny times, but I’ll just leave that for me to tell in person instead of a blog post.
Monday came around and I figured I should start making my way back home. I stayed in Culver City that night and we went to a sushi restaurant down there. I’ve never really had great sushi in Southern California. I guess I’ve never really had great sushi in California anyway. I guess I’ll have to head back to Hawaii sometime for that.
I made my final journey back on Tuesday. I stopped in Santa Barbara again so I could have Freebirds in IV. Everyone complains how much the price has gone up there since we went to college. I guess it is higher, but compared to everywhere else I go to get a burrito it’s pretty comparable. The food there is good and if you get a chance to stop in there it’s worth going. I took it to go and stopped at a beach to eat. I paid more for parking for 10 minutes than the expensive burrito I just bought. I’m not sure why. I let my GPS show me back to Interstate 5 and it took some out of the way highways to get there. I was on this one lane highway for a long stretch and I was thinking where is it taking me. It warned me though, but I decided to take it anyway. It’s kind of funny I think I’ve driven the same route in the past.
After a few hours I made it home. It was a good trip, but it feels good to be home again. I was down there for a few days, but didn’t take a single picture. I’m not sure why. I’m usually good about taking pictures when I go somewhere. Well now I’m back to work and back to routine.
