Techcrunch has a post regarding the new beta version of Blogger.com. It looks like it’s upgrades some JavaScript with Google style making it easier for people to blog on their platform. I personally use my own blogging software or setup blogs for people on Wordpress or Typepad, but I know a lot of people that just want a basic blog and Blogger is a good choice for them.

It looks like they have added drag and drop layout and make it easier for people to customize their blogs adding other elements besides your standard text.

It also has privacy settings where the user can create private or public blog profiles and I think this is a great feature. Some people only want some people reading certain content while others would like to create something for everyone. It’s good to see that people are given a choice.

Tagging has become very popular and easy for people to categorize particular subjects in the blog. It is easy to use and helps quite a bit.

In addition to tagging, content feeds have come to life in both RSS and Atom formats. I like to use Feedburner for my RSS feeds now because it does an excellent job of tracking and its free to use.

Blogger.com has a good product to make things easier for bloggers. If you don’t have a blog or are looking for something simple this might be the product for you. If you are looking for something more custom or integration into your site I would suggest you consult a professional for some guidance. I’m always here to help if you have any questions.
