Fox Buys Two Internet Start-Ups

May 2nd, 2006

According to CNET News.com, News Corp.’s Fox Interactive Media has purchased Newroo and kSolo two start-up companies that let users remix music and media on the Internet. Newroo allows users to add information from websites and blogs and add it to their own site. kSolo allows users to record audio over song recordings.

The technology of the two start-up companies will be on Fox Interactive Media-controlled sites.

Here is another example of Web 2.0 in action. Investors may buy out the companies themselves, or the investors may see a new technology created on the web for their own sites. An example of this is News Corp buying MySpace in contrast to Yahoo buying Meedio. In any case I have had the experience to work and evaluate quite a few Web 2.0 projects coming out this year and I have to say a lot are innovate and creative. Hopefully investors will see it the same way.
