On modern life is rubbish there was a small post on a Web 2.0 Color Palette. I usually use my typical colors but this is a small list of colors for those of us that are more program oriented as opposed to design. I never really know what colors work well together.
This will give some a good start especially if more time is put into functionality of the web application in respect to how much design is put into it. If you are looking to build prototypes and wireframes these colors will probably suit you well. It will at least buy you some time until you can get a designer to design the front end of the web application.
